About Lisa LeesGemini, blood type A, year of the dragon. I'm retired, and I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... paper tape, punch cards and front panels with toggle switches. Along the way I've been a college teacher, magazine editor, makeup artist, parent, photographer, programmer, sales clerk, secretary, systems analyst, and technical editor and writer. I've volunteered thousands of hours of time with children's and community theater and continue to do that and a bit of web consulting as I'm able. [More.]I'll be seeing you . . . on the farplane. |

| In 2005-6 I self-published a book of essays and two young adult novels. (Novel cover art by Jade Gordon.) Fool for Love is still available from Lulu.com as a $5 download; the other two are no longer available. I also still have online a list of YA genderqueer books I began while working on my novels. |

Before I began drawing Oopt:MMD in 2008, I spent two years writing and drawing A Queer Turn of Events, a sequel to my Queer Circle of Friends novel. The art was pretty bad, but I learned a lot. I used Adobe Illustrator, as I did not yet have Manga Studio, and had fun with my (too many) characters. I also used Illustrator for this Resu & Risa wallpaper. My art teacher in high school said that I was better at drawing things than I was at drawing people. I agree. But I believe I'm finally improving a bit, if forty years later. |
