Lisa's work in progress

This page is about the occasional comic art projects I do these days that aren't directly connected to the illustrated story that I'm very slowing working on (mostly offline).

December 2011

Colored using Copic markers. I don't believe I have enough shades of brown and grey to finish the background without it turning into mush. I may do a version colored in Manga Studio.

Final pencil, ready for color.

Figures pretty much finalized. Next step is final pencil, or ink; haven't decided which yet.

The previous sketch with the three figures roughed in. In spite of all my whining about how difficult Resu is to draw because of her clothes, in fact by now she's become the easiest one for me to draw.

Background pencil sketch for year-end LRR illustration. If I finish this in time, I'll use it to make cards.

November 2011

Colored illustration of Risa and Resu inspired by Trails in the Sky FC. Copic marker on 110kg Deleter comic book paper. I'm now using VueScan software with a CanoScan LiDE 60 on Doli, my MacMini, and I'm quite pleased with the scanned color.

Inked (using markers) illustration of Risa and Resu inspired by Trails in the Sky FC. As usual at this point, I like the pencil better, but we'll see what happens when I color it.

More detailed pencil sketch for Risa and Resu inspired by Trails in the Sky FC. I think I'm ready to ink this.

I really, really, really like Trails in the Sky! I just bought the Japanese "materials collection" for PSP and cannot wait to play the next two installments (once my Japanese is a bit better).

July 2011

Been playing Final Fantasy X and X-2 on the PS2. I like all the player characters in X and X-2, but I really like Yuna. So I'm working on some fan art.

This is my third pencil sketch, which I like well enough to proceed with inking. The goal is something I can color using Copic markers.

There's more of my fan art over here on my site.
